The story
From Iraq to Canada — the experience behind the advice
Yasir Hussein did not start his career as a consultant. He started it as an entrepreneur — founding and operating a cosmetics import and distribution company in Iraq, becoming the exclusive agent for several international brands, managing supply chains, and building teams.
He then led a pharmaceutical company as Regional Manager across four provinces — managing distributed sales teams, building relationships with institutional buyers, and delivering on revenue objectives under serious competitive pressure.
Then came the immigration journey — through Turkey, and eventually to Canada. Every credential, every relationship, every professional advantage had to be rebuilt in a country that was once completely unfamiliar.
That experience — of starting over, of navigating fragmented systems in a language that is not your own, of making costly mistakes and learning from them — is the foundation of North Advisory.
